Diapers, diapers and more diapers!!!
It’s no surprise that babies go through tons of diapers!!! I wish I would have started a count, but I figure we are at least a couple of hundred diapers into it so far, and it’s barely been over a month!
So far, I’m amazed at what these diapers can hold! Ben is still wearing the tiny “newborn” diapers and it is surprising as to what he can leave in there! Just the difference in weight between a new diaper and a used diaper is worth a conversation!
The hardest thing to judge in proper diapering is how tight to pull the tabs. On one hand, you don’t want to leave them so loose so Ben’s “gifts” come falling out the sides. On the other hand, you don’t want to pull them so tight as to squeeze his tiny belly, and in my opinion, creating even more in the diaper! (if you know what I mean)
And one other thing, why is there a little cartoon on the front of these diapers?? I think the ones we have now have Elmo and Big Bird on them. Who gets entertainment out of these? Certainly not Ben who at this point seems very content just staring at the white ceiling or off into space at sights unseen. Are they trying to make ME feel better knowing that Elmo and Big Bird are on the case and will do all it takes to keep things contained IN the diaper??? Who knows….Maybe it is the baby industry just prepping me for my many years of PBS and Nickelodeon watching to come! I hope cartoons nowadays are as good as they were when I was a kid! (He-man, Transformers, etc)

Hi,
I am expecting my own bundle of joy in a couple of months time and your blog provides me with experience of what is to come and some entertainment as well… thanks, mate.
Excellent work and I now know to keep track of the number of diapers used for information sake.
Cheers,
Kok Ann

Kok,
I wish I had the time just to write the half of it!!!! After things settle over the next few weeks, I hope to be able to reflect and add a lot more!
Good luck with yours!
