It’s such a strange feeling knowing that any minute your wife could go into labor. The past week or so when we go to bed I make it a point to say, “honey, can you wait another 8 hours before anything happens…” Simply for the fact that I can enjoy one more full night of sleep before Ben is here!!!
It really is so exciting. Everything is in place, the room is done, the bag is packed, it’s pretty much a waiting game. We’ve heard all the wives tales on how to “induce the labor” with everything from sex to chinese food….but I guess when he is ready, he will be ready!!!
Over the past couple of days I’ve been thinking of where I really want to go with this site. At this point, I’m really looking forward to using it to document both Ben’s life, and my experiences at being a father. I hope to do this through regular posting from myself and Amy, a podcast, and eventually a vidcast.
As it evolves, I think I’m really looking forward the vidcast the most. I want to make some sort of docu-sitcom that explains the everyday joy of being a father. Just with the site alone I’ve already received some great feedback and I hope to build on that with some genuine content.
I’ll be sure to update the site ASAP with baby info, mom info and of course pictures galore!!! I have one brief video in the can which includes the bedroom and “ben in utero” which I hope to post soon!
Thanks for watching!

Hi,
I just wanted to say that I have enjoyed reading your blog, and I am sending good thoughts your way!
Reading this has brought back the feelings of anticipation, excitement, and shear nervousness, that I felt when my wife was about to bring our daughter into our lives. That all melted away the moment I saw her head crown and all that is left is pure bliss, nothing else in the world is as important as what is happening in that room at that moment. I look forward to at least one more if life permits.
I hope the two of you get to enjoy the process as much as possible.
(oh try shopping my wife’s water broke while strolling through Target. )
Justin
Thank Justin!!!
The ancipitation is almost becoming overwhelming at times. I’ve been trying to not think about it in hopes that it will happen then…
we’ll see…
