Well, last night we went to a breast feeding class at the local Babies R Us. (I told you in my last podcast that this place has EVERYTHING…I wasn’t lying!)
There were probably about 15 or so pregnant women there with a scattering of husbands, myself included. They went over technique, timing, products, etc, etc….Although it was loosely a sales pitch for their products, it was actually very informative!
The good news and the thing Amy was most excited about, we actually WON two things!!! An Avent breast pump (value $50 baby!!!) and this other thing called a “boppy pillow”. (which we had on the registery).
So all in all, it was a well spent 2 hours!

(Dare I attempt this?? I’ve never blogged b4)
Oh shoot – this has brought a few more tears to my eyes, which I certainly didn’t need after crying, practically all yesterday afternoon and evening, from bringing our older child, Ben (which is why I’m responding to this blog), to his first day of his first year at college!!
It really does seem like only a very short while ago that David and I were doing what you and Amy are doing – preparing to welcome our son, Ben, into the world.
It all seems to have passed by way to quickly – even though so many people said it would, and I thought I’d make sure I captured every moment, in one way or another, so that I wouldn’t let that happen – it did anyway!!
I could probably write about 10 pages here, remembering all those thrilling, exciting, freightening, silly, fun and funny times leading up to Ben’s birth, and another billion or so entries on all the times since, but this is your blog page, not mine – I haven’t started one yet – was thinking about doing so, as I just surfed the net in hopes of distracting myself from still feeling so blue about Ben’s 1st full day away at college – but in signing off – I’m wishing all three of you all the happiness we’ve experienced all these years – many times over.
PS – congrats on your wins – enjoy (all of it).
The boppy pillow is a God send for your wife and we bought one of those pumps and my wife hasn’t used it more than twice. My new daughter is 4 months old working on 5 months. I’ll tell you it is great having the munchkin around when I get home from work but the first 3 months are hard mostly cause of sleep deprivation. We found that about half the stuff we were told in breastfeeding class didnt apply to our little one but some of it was quite usefull. spose thats the way it is. I dont usually advertise but you might get a kick out of my blog as it is a tongue in cheek look at my experiance as a father so far. totally for entertainment and not to be taken seriously. http://lumpysoddyssey.blogspot.com/
Take good care of your wife for the first 3 months and help alot even though you are not going to feel like it. She’ll appreciate it more than you could possibly imagine.

I think we are fully stocked and ready to go!
